NICK CRAWFORD
UAB 4 year starter under Coach Brian Shoop and legendary Coach Ron Polk.  Ranks in the top 10 in hits, walks, runs scored, stolen bases,
and sacrifice bunts. Career Leader at UAB in games played and sacrifice bunts  Holds a .301 career batting average with a .420 on base percentage in 224 career games played.  Freshman All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Conference selection, Conference USA All-Academic Team.  He was a Cape Cod All-Star (most prestigious summer league in the country) and played at Fenway Park.  Senior year was selected as the Conference USA Spirit of Service Award Winner (Awarded to only 12 student athletes involved in Spring Sports). Also had opportunities to sign professional contracts with the Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, and Washington Nationals

JOSH ZEID
Two years at Vanderbilt and two at Tulane … Senior year at Tulane went 6-0 with a 4.00 era and was drafted in the 10th round by the Philadelphia Phillies...First two years of professional baseball went 16-8 with a 2.94 ERA with 183 strikeouts in 187 innings. Was South Atlantic League All Star in 2010, and was invited to Arizona Fall League and named to the Rising Stars All Star game on MLB Network after going 3-0 with a 3.86 era.  In 2011 was Phillies AA Opening Day Starter, and then at the Trade Deadline was one of 3 players traded for Hunter Pence. Just got back from winning the Arizona Fall League Championship where he struck out at least one batter in 14 of his 15 appearances and 12 in a row … In High Schol at Hamden Hall, was 2005 Louisville Slugger, Street & Smith, Collegiate Baseball and NHSBCA all American  … 2005 Gatorade Connecticut High School Player-of-the-Year … ranked 27th pro prospect in the country by Baseball America in 2005 … 2004 AFLAC all-America … played on the Team USA Youth National Team in 2003.


JONATHAN MERRITT
Four year starter at shortstop for UAB under Coach Brian Shoop and legendary Coach Ron Polk. Holds the single season record for runs scored at 68.  A career .309 hitter, scored more runs (194) and recorded more at-bats (851) than any player in UAB history.  Also ranks in the top five in the Blazers' career record book for hits (263, 3rd), doubles (54, 3rd), RBI (137, 5th), total bases (394, 3rd) and stolen bases (61, 5th). Freshman All-Conference, Preseason All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Conference selection, Named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Second Team, and was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.  Signed with the Astros in 2010 and was recognized as MiLB.com Organization All-Star for 2010 and Appalachian League offensive player of the week for the last week in August holding a .500 batting average with 4 R, 2 2B, 1 HR, 1.125 SLG
